Lincoln Performing Arts Centre and Nottingham Playhouse are joining forces to celebrate the voices of young people across the East Midlands.
Dates: Monday 10 – Friday 14 August, and Monday 17 – Friday 21 August 2020
Times: 10am – 4pm each day
Ages: 12 – 18 years
MonoLab Digital Summer School will provide young people an opportunity to meet (digitally) and share creative ideas, receive training in creative writing, acting and directing from the professional team at Nottingham Playhouse and Lincoln Performing Arts Centre, and to create an original Monologue Slam short Film.
Team Nottingham and Team Lincoln will be challenged to create a short film together in the style of a “Monologue Off” in which they will advocate for their own fine city. A small dose of healthy competition is always helpful to get the creative juices flowing and push us to seek out the positives we have to offer. But, ultimately, this project will showcase the talents of our regions young people and big up the cultural landscape we share.
We invite you to use your voice, speak your mind and discover the positives of the place you call home.
Zoom Sessions will consist of a combination of activities, all of which will lead to the creation of a MonoLab short film which will be shared publicly:
· Performance skills workshops led by our professional teams
· Creative Writing labs
· Solo creative tasks and show and tell
· Home recording workshops
Participants are welcome to join us as writers, performers, or both.
Information will be sent to all participants about how to access Zoom prior to the workshop.
