Following the recent surprise find at the British Library of Harold Pinter’s sketch, Umbrellas, part of a 1960 revue performed at Nottingham Playhouse, we performed it here once again last Friday.
Umbrellas was directed by our Artistic Director, Giles Croft, with a little help from the audience(!) and performed by the distinguished actors Ian Bartholomew and William Hoyland who starred in our co-production The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui.
This was the first opportunity for a British audience to see and hear this early Pinter fragment performed live in more than 50 years.
Were you there? Did you become a part of theatre history? If so, drop us a line and let us know your thoughts. Should we do more of these types of sessions? Drop us a line on our Twitter @SkyMirror using the hashtag #umbrellas or on our Facebook page www.facebook.com/nottinghamplayhouse
